United Nations Nairobi, 12 th July 2025: H.E Dr. Musalia Mudavadi E.G.H Principal Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya visited United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON) grounds to inspect the ongoing renovations and construction of new office blocks at the complex. The PCS who was accompanied by the Permanent Representative of Kenya to the UN-Habitat Amb. Nakhumicha Wafula, E.G.H, was welcomed by Ms. Zainab Bangura, the UN Under-Secretary-General & Director-General of UNON.
UNON, as the host to UN-Habitat and UNEP, plays a significant role in underscoring Kenya’s leadership in urbanization and environmental discourses. The construction of new office blocks and the renovation of existing structures align with efforts to strengthen UN offices in Nairobi and across Africa, while modernizing facilities to be more environmentally friendly. These developments further position Nairobi as a global center for environmental diplomacy.
