

Trans Nzoia County, October 10th : H.E. Ambassador Nakhumicha Wafula E.G.H., joined the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, Dr. Deborah Barasa, in commemorating National Mazingira Day 2025 at Kabuyefwe Primary School in Kiminini Constituency. The event was held under the theme “Citizen-Centric Tree Growing and Environmental Stewardship,” highlighting the vital role of community engagement in advancing Kenya’s green agenda.
In her address, Ambassador Wafula emphasized that tree planting is not merely a national obligation but a global responsibility. She referenced the New Urban Agenda and Sustainable Development Goal 11 as foundational frameworks that call for inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable urban environments. Her remarks underscored the importance of aligning local action with international commitments to foster climate resilience and ecological integrity.
