Nairobi, September 2026: Amb. Beatrice Karago, Deputy Permanent Representative of Kenya to UN‑Habitat, joined partners and stakeholders at the symposium on “Building Climate Resilience with the Urban Poor” (BCRUP), hosted at Kenya Utalii College.
The symposium brought together climate action leaders, officials from the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on opportunities for strengthening partnerships and advancing the implementation of the BCRUP initiative.
In her remarks, Amb. Karago underscored the importance of collaborative action and inclusive approaches in building resilience among vulnerable urban communities. She further announced that Kenya will host a High‑Level Roundtable on BCRUP during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.
