KENYA AND POLAND DEEPEN COOPERATION ON SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT

Nairobi, September 12th : H.E Ambassador Nakhumicha Wafula,E.G.H., Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the UN-Habitat, hosted Madam Magdalena Moryksiewicz, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Poland in Nairobi, for a courtesy call. She noted that Poland was among the first countries to recognize Kenya’s independence in 1963, a gesture that laid the foundation for decades of constructive bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Amb. Nakhumicha appreciated Poland’s leadership and support in advancing UN-Habitat’s mandate and its contributions to global dialogue on inclusive, sustainable, and resilient urban development.
Discussions also explored Poland’s participation in the upcoming High-Level Side Event on Adequate Housing, which will be hosted by H.E. President William Ruto on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. Ambassador Nakhumicha affirmed Kenya’s commitment to further strengthening collaboration with Poland in shaping a better urban future.
