Nairobi, 15 September 2026 : At the invitation of Ms. Anacláudia Rossbach, Under‑Secretary‑General and Executive Director of UN‑Habitat, H.E. Amb. Nakhumicha Wafula, E.G.H., Permanent Representative of Kenya to UN‑Habitat, held discussions on preparations for UN Habitat’s participation in the upcoming 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) in New York next week.
The Executive Director also briefed the Ambassador on plans for the commemoration of UN‑Habitat’s 50th anniversary, an important milestone that Kenya is proud to host since the Programme’s establishment in 1978.
Ambassador Nakhumicha Wafula commended Ms. Rossbach’s leadership and reaffirmed Kenya’s steadfast support for UN‑Habitat’s mandate, underscoring the country’s commitment to working closely with the Programme to advance sustainable urban development and adequate housing worldwide.
