The resumed second session of the UN-Habitat Assembly officially commenced today at the United Nations Complex in Gigiri, Nairobi. The session was formally opened by Hon. Alice Wahome, EGH, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development.
In her opening remarks, the Cabinet Secretary reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable urban development, as well as to the realization of adequate housing for all. She also engaged in a series of bilateral meetings with fellow Ministers on the sidelines of the Assembly, aimed at fostering strong partnerships in support of Kenya’s shared development objectives.
