




Trans Nzoia County, October 10th : H.E. Amb. Nakhumicha Wafula E.G.H., Permanent Representative of Kenya to the UN-Habitat, graced the Mazingira Day 2025 celebrations as Chief Guest at Baraton Primary School in Kiminini Constituency, Trans Nzoia County.
In her keynote address, Ambassador Nakhumicha underscored the collective duty to safeguard and steward our shared environment, echoing the vision of H.E. the President’s Jaza Miti initiative, which aspires to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.
To commemorate the occasion, the Ambassador—accompanied by staff from the Mission—joined the local community in a symbolic tree planting exercise, reaffirming Kenya’s commitment to climate action and grassroots engagement.
