Nairobi, 8th October 2026: H.E. Amb. Nakhumicha Wafula, E.G.H., Permanent Representative of Kenya to UN-Habitat, joined the Chief Guest, Dr. Korir Sing’Oei, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, fellow Ambassadors, and other distinguished guests at a reception held at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, to mark the National Foundation Day of the Republic of Korea.
The Principal Secretary highlighted the strong and longstanding relations between Kenya and the Republic of Korea, underscoring the importance of deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.The reception provided a valuable opportunity to celebrate the enduring friendship between the two countries and reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening Kenya–Korea relations.
Ambassador Nakhumicha also reflected on the three occasions she visited the Republic of Korea while serving as Cabinet Secretary for Health.More recently, she hosted H.E. Amb. Kang Hyung-shik at the Permanent Mission, where they discussed the proposed twinning of the Han River and Nairobi River as part of ongoing efforts to restore and regenerate the Nairobi River.
