Nairobi, 9th September: H.E. Ambassador Nakhumicha Wafula, E.G.H., Permanent Representative of Kenya to UN-Habitat, had the pleasure of meeting with the Chinese delegation to UN-Habitat, led by H.E. Ms. Wenhua Zhao, Deputy Permanent Representative of China to UN-Habitat.
China has consistently been a strong champion of multilateralism and a steadfast partner in advancing the work and mandate of UN-Habitat.
The Permanent Representative took the opportunity to congratulate China on its assumption of the Presidency of the UN-Habitat Executive Board and to reaffirm Kenya’s support for its leadership. In her capacity as Chair of the Executive Board’s Ad Hoc Working Group on Programmatic, Budgetary and Administrative Matters, she assured H.E. Ms. Zhao of Kenya’s commitment to working closely with China to strengthen the effectiveness of the Board and support UN-Habitat in delivering on its mandate.
Kenya looks forward to deepening its longstanding multilateral cooperation with China and working together to ensure that UN-Habitat remains strong, responsive, and well-positioned to advance sustainable urbanization globally.
