NAIROBI’S STRATEGIC ROLE HIGHLIGHTED DURING KENYAN DELEGATION VISIT TO ICRC LOGISTICS HUB

Nairobi, 28 May 2026: A delegation comprised of members of the Multilateral Affairs Directorate together with Kenya’s Permanent Missions to UN‑Habitat, UNEP, and UNON visited the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Logistics Support Centre in Nairobi. The visit provided valuable exposure to the Centre’s operational role in supporting humanitarian action across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

The team received an overview of ICRC’s logistics systems and toured both the Support Centre and the Nairobi Gate warehouse. Particular emphasis was placed on medical logistics, including the deployment of emergency hospitals to Gaza and other conflict zones.

The visit highlighted Nairobi’s strategic importance as a hub for humanitarian logistics and underscored ICRC’s commitment to efficiency, preparedness, and principled humanitarian response worldwide.
