Amb. Nakhumicha Wafula joined the Her Excellency, the First Lady, Rachel Ruto, EGH during her official visit to Farasi Lane Primary School, today, 29th April, 2026. H.E. the First Lady was visiting the school for the second time to handover the bus she did promise on 30th May 2025 at UN-Habitat side event where she championed sustainable urban farming under “Mama Kitchen Garden Initiative” that aims to promote food security and nutrition in schools across the country.
In her remarks, Amb. Wafula commended H.E. the First Lady for launching Mama Kitchen Garden Initiative in the school and delivering a bus to them that will greatly enhance food security and transport logistics among the learners. She also commended on the partnership between the Mission and the Office of the First Lady in advancing environmental stewardship and community participation that contribute meaningfully towards realization of sustainable cities and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Amb. Wafula also invited H.E. the First Lady to continue partnering with the Mission and other agencies in the Nairobi River regeneration programme by planting fruit trees along it.
